Cllr2.0 is campaign to help inspire councillors and other civic leaders to use the internet to communicate with their constituents, stakeholders and the general public.

We are filming a group of Norfolk County Councillors as they learn how to use social media, digital photography, email and blogs to achieve their aims of engaging more effectively with their constituents. Over the next 4 months we will watch them identify their objectives and learn how to get to grips with both the technology, but more importantly the techniques of using the internet to communicate.

The film will form the centrepiece of a series of events held by public bodies where we will provide an introductory booklet and a blogger. The idea is that the film inspires, the booklet informs and the blogger introduces the everyday reality of internet communication.

The project is being managed by Gallomanor. Norfolk County Council are providing support for their councillors and filming much of their journey. Training and blogging expertise is provided by Wigley and Associates and Andrew Brown. The film is being produced by Napoleon Creative. OpenEye Communications, ICELE and Involve are providing editorial and promotional support.

The project is funded by the UK Government’s Ministry of Justice Innovations Fund II, Norfolk County Council (with eVoice funding). We are interested in hearing from any organisation wishing to sponsor further events to broaden the reach of our work.
